However, when an individual or couple develops a sincere interest in one or more of the many facets of BDSM, they often do not know where to turn to gather reliable information or meet others with similar interests. Unlike asking for advice about interest in a new hobby, BDSM is not the sort of subject matter that many people can comfortably ask a friend, neighbor or fellow church member.
For the past twenty years, STL3, a non-profit educational organization, has served the St. Louis region Lifestyle community as the primary source of support, education and social activities for individuals genuinely interested in BDSM by providing discussion seminars, classes, workshops, semi-annual conventions, and other organized group activities. STL3 is dedicated to, and promotes the principles of, “Safe, Sane, and Consensual” in the lifestyle. STL3, formally known as ‘Leather & Lace’, has been nationally recognized and recommended in popular books including `Screw the Roses‘ and `The Loving Dominant‘. STL3 holds a Coalition Membership with the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF) and works closely with the NCSF towards the advancement of equal rights for consenting adults who engage in alternative sexual and relationship expressions.
STL3 hosts an open social gathering (called a ‘munch’) on the second Saturday of every month at a popular local St Louis area tavern & restaurant. It is regularly attended by 50 to 100 of the friendliest kinky people you will ever meet. This is a great way to meet and make friends with individuals involved in the lifestyle in a safer, public, no-pressure venue.
No invitations are required. Simply show up between 7:00PM and 10:00PM. Enjoy a wide selection of beverages and food while you meet and talk to other people into the Lifestyle, some with years of experience and others who are just as new as you.
